Corona Chronicles: Missive 9

Oh man, there are certain things I hate doing.  Hate, hate, hate.  And being isolated at home, with nothing better to do, doesn't mean I haven't worked hard to find worse things to do instead.

But it's all relative.  For instance, something I hate doing and have been successfully avoiding for a lot longer than the past eight weeks: cleaning the Yeti-fur of dust off the ceiling fan in my room.  Something worse (with respect to unhealthy eating habits, weight gain, etc.) is baking many, many batches of chocolate chip cookies, and that, yes, I have accomplished.

So if we're talking Better/Worse, the items on the "Better" side may be good for you to get done, but not so much fun to accomplish, while those on the "Worse" side may be bad for you, but they feel oh so good, so who cares?!?! Let's take a look:

            BETTER

WORSE (But is it really, though?)

  • Decluttering the den Bookshelves
  • Organizing 8 years worth of pictures into albums
  • Finish creating a storybook I started with my kids last year
  • Waking up early
  • Doing the dishes
  • Doing the laundry
  • Letting the kids eat every snack they want in unlimited quantities for a 1 hour window, just to enjoy the blessed silence for a few moments
  • Playing 800 rounds of Wordscapes on my phone to win a fancier virtual crown to pop up on my screen as I play the next 800 games
  • Watching 7 straight hours of HGTV
  • Waking up late (we're in lockdown, what's the damn point?)
  • Doing my nails

So I'm gonna give myself a break on all the misdeeds, and hope I get some of the "Better" deeds done soon.  First up, cleaning off that disgusting ceiling fan.  Now if I only I could figure out where we put the ladder...

Until then, I'll be wishing you good luck, good night, and good health.
